The Gap we Leave Behind

Death is a tragic event, the passing-away of a loved one can leave a family emotionally shattered and in a state of temporary paralysis. More tragic is a family which is left financially shattered following the death of a loved one. Funerals are expensive, morticians, caskets, burial plots, flowers, transportation … the list is endless and the cost is often way more than the average family can afford.

The last thing you would want is for your family to face financial difficulty and be compelled into borrowing money or taking out loans in order to give you the dignified funeral memorial service you deserve, which is why you need to take out a funeral plan. A funeral plan is an insurance policy. A funeral plan which will upon your death, without any delay pay your beneficiary a pre-determined amount of money upon presentation of all necessary documentation. Your family/beneficiaries can use this money to pay for funeral expenses, or in whatever manner they see fit.

They damage however does not stop with the funeral. Your passing away leaves a permanent gap emotionally, which will sadly never be filled, but you will also leave a financial gap in the lives of your loved ones. They will no longer be seeing the income you took home every month – so how can you be sure that your family will not suffer under financial strain in the months following your death, as they struggle to adjust their lifestyles and find a way to compensate for the lost income?

You need to take out a funeral plan which will for 12 months following your death pay your family an amount of money every month. This amount may not be as much as you used to take home in earnings, but it will help compensate for some of that lost income – more importantly it should  help ensure that your loved ones can afford the essentials food, shelter etc.
